Dr. Jeffery Kelly is originally from Fredericton New Brunswick. Dr. Kelly received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Prince Edward Island. Then moved to Foxcroft Veterinary Services in 1992. He is a father of 4 wonderful children and Fred the cat. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, hockey and spending time with his children and friends. Dr Kelly partnered with Dr Miles and Dr Ruksznis in 2001 to form Foxcroft Veterinary Service, PA.
Dr. Ronald Miles was born and raised on a small farm in Stetson, Maine, where he helped raise crops, work in the woodlot, and enjoyed riding ponies. His first experience of veterinary medicine is when Dr Ruksznis came to castrate his pony for him when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Central High School in East Corinth in 1987, and went to the University of Maine. In the fall of 1988 he joined the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, and graduated in 1991 with BS in Wildlife Management, 1992 with BS Pre-Vet Animal Science. He attended the University of Missouri for his veterinary education graduating in 1996. In the spring of 1996 he returned to Maine to start his veterinary career at Sherman Veterinary Service, P.A. He worked for 5 years for Dr Sherman and Dr Ruksznis gaining valuable experience and knowledge as a mixed animal practitioner. In 2001 he partnered with Dr Kelly and Dr Ruksznis to purchase Sherman Veterinary Service and formed what is now presently Foxcroft Veterinary Services, PA. He continues to practice as a mixed animal vet in the new practice completed in 2008. Dr Miles is the proud father of 6 beautiful children that he enjoys spending time with. During the summer he loves to hike with his wife throughout Maine. He is lucky enough to also be able to consult with his wife on difficult cases and values her opinion. She is a small animal veterinarian and owner of Penobscot Vet in Bangor, Maine. Dr Miles enjoys time outside, hunting, fishing, and of course can be seen riding his horses throught Dover-Foxcroft.
Dr. Dennis Ruksznis was born in Dover-Foxcroft and raised in Guilford. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 1973 and has been in practice since. He specializes in large animal care and is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. In his spare time he is an avid tennis player and enjoys hiking. He shares his home with his wife and two children, Catarina and Abigail, along with 5 horses, 2 dogs and a cat. Dr Ruksznis partnered with Dr Miles and Dr Kelly in 2001 to form Foxcroft Veterinary Service, PA.
Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Joined FVS in August 2005. Lauree-Anne lives with her husband Zach in Shirley. She attended University College of Bangor. They own three dogs and many chickens. Lauree-Anne and Zach recently bought land and just finished building their dream home together. They enjoy hiking, fishing, 4-wheeling, spending time with friends and family.
Joined FVS part-time in July 2016. She currently works full-time as a Licensed Veterinarian Technician (LVT) at Ridge Runner Veterinary Services in Winterport. Amanda is also a recent graduate of UMA Bangor with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science. She lives with her family in Charleston. Amanda love to travel in her spare time.
Joined FVS in August 2016. She and her newly wed husband Brian own a home Corinth, where they live with 2 dogs, Layla and Jitney, two cats, Punken and Callie, a bird, Guss and a fish, Sunny. Marisa is a graduate of UMA Bangor with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science. When Marisa isn’t working, she enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and watching tv/movies.
Joined FVS in September 2017. She lives in Corinth with boyfriend Josh on a cozy little farm of four horses, four cats, two dogs, rabbit, chinchilla and chickens. She is originally from New Hampshire and she studied Veterinary Science at Becker College. She also enjoys riding horses, hiking, crafting, ice skating and owns her own small business, Horse Sense and Animal Tales tack store.
Animal Health Care Assistants
Joined FVS in November 2010. Ashley and her family live in Shirley. Ashley started her carrier with FVS as one of our receptionists before accepting a position as a Technician. She is a graduate of University of Maine with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Ashley owns three yorkies and a lab, one cat, three bunnies, two horses, four birds, a goat and fish. When she is not tending to the animals she is boating, snowmobiling, camping or riding her horse. Ashley also truly enjoys dog grooming.
Joined FVS in May 2015. She lives with her family on a farm in Exeter, where they raise Hereford Angus beef cattle. Hillary is also a recent graduate of UMA Bangor with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Science. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her three dogs, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and watching movies.
Joined FVS in May 2015. She lives in Dover-Foxcroft with her family, four horses, two dogs and cat Helga. Chelsie is a current student at UMA Bangor studying in the field of Veterinary Science. She is a member of USEA (Unites States Eventing Association) where she travels throughout the Northeast competing horses. In her spare time she enjoys training horses and good ol’ fresh air.
Laura joined FVS part-time in June 2017. She lives in Palmyra with her family, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 goats and chickens. She is currently a student at University of Maine studying Pre-Veterinary Science. Laura enjoys fishing, running and playing soccer in her spare time.
Joined FVS in September 2017. She lives in Exeter with her boyfriend Tom, horse Shotgun, two dogs Duke and Diesel, four cats and two cows, chickens, guinea hens and ducks. Jenna is a recent graduate of UMA Bangor with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Science. She likes spending time with family, bowling, fishing, target practicing and going to the lake or coast.
Joined FVS in October 2017. Kara is the proud new owner of a house in Dexter where she lives with her boyfriend and son. She has attended UMA of Bangor, she was a Kennel Attendant for 7 years and a Animal Care Assistant for 5 years before joining our team. She shares her life with 2 dogs, 3 cats and a horse. She enjoys painting, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and attending local dressage shows.
Joined FVS in April 2012. Kristie and her husband Josh share their home in Stetson with their two border collies, three horses, two cats and a rabbit. Kristie is also a graduate of Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School and runs her farrier service on the evenings and weekends. When Kristie isn’t working, she enjoys camping, 4-wheeling and barrel racing her horses.
Shannon joined FVS in March 2012. She currently lives in Dover with her and her son Aiden. They share a home dog Layla and cat Rico . She started her career with FVS as one of our Kennel Workers and then was promoted to a Receptionist position. She enjoys reading, cooking and family time.
Keri joined FVS in September 2012. Keri and her husband Rob live in Charleston with their two amazing boys, Karson, Avyn, and daughter Amelia. They share their home with two dog, a cat and tortoise. Daughter of local dairy farmers, her knowledge has been a great addition to our front desk staff. In her spare time she enjoys photography and family time.
Joined FVS in July 2014. She currently lives in Exeter with her husband, dogs, horses and goats. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, hunting, horse back riding and spending time out doors.
Keri joined FVS part-time in July 2016. She lives in Garland with her new husband Brandon, beautiful son Mason, dog Griffen and 3 cats. She is a graduate of Dexter High School class of 2015 and when she is not working at the clinic she is either riding horses, training horses or competing horses.
Joined FVS in September 2016. She lives in Monson on her family owned cow farm. Cassidy is currently a student at the University of Maine studying Veterinary Technology. She also exercises horses at Camelot Hills Farm in Dover-Foxcroft. In her free time she enjoys hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and just enjoying the fresh air.
David Joined FVS in November 2017. He lives in Dover-Foxcroft with his dog Smokey and horse Dually. David has returned back to the state after working 4 years in Texas and Oklahoma as a cutting horse trainer. He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing men’s league hockey as a goal tender.
Joined FVS in December 2010. She lives in Dover-Foxcroft with her five feline roommates. Nan is a great asset to FVS for her many years in the medical field. Nan treats every animal at the clinic like it is her own and she loves spending time with family and friends.
Joined FVS in June 2015. She lives in Corinna with her parents, sister and their dog Red. She is currently a student at Nokomis High School and aspiring to be a veterinary technician. In her free time she enjoys taking her horse, Chase to local shows and spending time with friends.
Joined FVS in September 2016. She lives in Hudson with her family, 4 horses, 2 cats and 2 dogs. Karah is currently a student at University of Maine studying Child Development and Family Relations. In her spare time she enjoys soccer and volleyball.
